Hello, my name is Sandra Hughes,
and I want to share my story with you.
If you’re ready to take your next big step, or are already in the midst of it and are looking for support, get in touch to see if we might be a good fit.
Over 30 plus years I have become skilled in strategic planning, complex negotiations, hiring, mentoring and building relationships inside and outside of organizations. Also during those 30 years, I have fine-tuned the skills of foresight, vision, strategy and sustainability to make businesses profitable and have found that there are three foundational components, that when executed correctly, ensure a profitable and prosperous business.
I had the opportunity to this on an international level and gained a lot of experience asking the right questions to understand the problems, before strategizing the best solutions. Like many women, I managed this while caring for my children. These experiences led me to graduate school and the creation of my coaching practice, and being a successful solopreneur.
But the path to becoming a successful solopreneur was filled with challenges. What I didn’t realize when setting up my own coaching practice was all that would go in to starting my own business from scratch. Coming from a corporate background does not prepare you to work for yourself because suddenly the structure and support that you had around you and the resources (like being able to call the IT person when having technical issues), isn’t any longer part of your reality. You are completely responsible for making everything happen and it is daunting. I am fortunate to have overcome that overwhelm and uncertainty while having my own breakthrough experience and I am passionate to share what I have learned in becoming a solopreneur with you as I help you move your businesses forward.
I have been fortunate to have mentors and coaches, and I consult with them to this day. I have learned from personal experience that being mentored and coached shows you don’t know everything; that you need support and guidance, both strategic and personal. I am most proud of the people that I have coached and mentored and where they are today. Now I want to share that in a bigger way by sharing all of my knowledge, expertise and experience and focus it on helping entrepreneurs, especially solopreneurs, build and grow a successful business.
I have an MBA from Santa Clara University with a concentration in Leading People and Organizations. I am a member of the International Coaching Federation, ICF, and received my CPCC at the Coaches Training Institute, an internationally recognized coaching certification program. I live in the Bay Area.
I received my BA in Political Science from Wellesley College. Much of my professional experience, especially at Gap, Inc., was mentoring women and men. Much of my satisfaction from my previous career came from seeing the people that I hired and mentored grow.
Today I passionately create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs to move to the next level in both their business and personal lives.
